Alan Frederick Lovitsch

Alan Lovitsch, a devoted follower and servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, went home to be with him on October 21st, 2025, at age 84. Alan was the beloved son of Raymond and Otillie Lovitsch of Chicago, IL. He is survived by the love of his life, Faye, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, and together they raised three lovely daughters, Lisa Lovitsch, Tracy Sheridan (Steve), and Holly Nelson (Marcus) in the western suburbs of Chicago. He is also survived by brother Brian Lovitsch (Jean). Alan loved life and took it in stride with calmness, gentleness, and a strong faith, earning him the nickname Easy Al. Whether it was taking his family to church, camp, vacations, to ride horses, or cheering on all three daughters at their various sporting events, these were the times he cherished the most. He especially cherished his six precious grandchildren who fondly remember him by his silly jokes and sayings. Their presence brought him so much joy and laughter, which encouraged him in his final days as they gathered by his bedside in Suwanee, GA, where he recently relocated this year with Faye. Faith and family were Alan's greatest joys. His strongest desire was to bring people to know Christ, and he also actively sought to encourage non-active members to return to church. He was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and served as an elder for many years. Graduating from DePaul University, he became a CPA and partner at Gleeson, Sklar, & Sawyers, and finally at Plante Moran. Upon retirement, he enjoyed watching the Chicago White Sox win the World Series as he was not only a fan, but had also spent the majority of his youth and young adulthood playing baseball. He also occupied his time with daily trips to the barn with Faye to take care of their horse, gardening, and visiting with his grandchildren. Even up to the very end, his favorite pastime was reading his Bible daily. To honor Alan’s life, a memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on October 29, 2025 at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church at 4655 Webb Bridge Rd, Alpharetta, GA. The family will receive friends from 10:15-11:00 AM preceding the service. A private burial service and interment will follow the memorial service.
